Tuesday Tip #20 – Vulnerability
June 9, 2009
Today’s Tuesday Tip comes to us from C.S. Lewis.
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless–it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

Can I just say “I am in love!”
Who is the handsome child in the picture?
You will have to meet him. Seriously. His name is Fernando. We call him Fernandito. He is a doll!
I have always loved this quote. A perfect reminder for today. Great Tuesday Tip!
SO well said. C. S. Lewis … truly had a beautiful way of working with words. It’s like poetry of the mind, just to hear him talk.
WOW! Perfect, personally I needed that reminder.
