Scars – Conclusion

This final entry on the topic of the purpose of scars is purely scripture. There is hope. There is help. Let these words speak to your heart. Seek help if you need to from professionals. And may we all be caught up in the wonderous grace of God.

The Weight

2 Corithians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with meValley of the shadow of Death

Matthew 11:28 – 30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

2 Corinthians 1:2 -5 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Conclusion

I do believe that you can make it through this and be better off for it in the end. Sure, we can’t even imagine what that is going to be like. But I do believe that when we are chatting in eternity you will be able to say, “I wouldn’t have had in any other way.” God is going to give you beauty for ashes. You are going to be alright.

  1. Great thoughts and great verses, Angie … such a difficult thought to wrap our head around in so many ways. I’m sure that you experience this challenge first hand all the time, both from the inside and the outside. And I want to remind you of a little passage in Scripture that says, “He who waters will himself be refreshed.”

    Be refreshed, O refresher.
