¡¡¡ASIGNACIÓN!!!

We have been appointed a child!!! YES!!! Thank you God!!!

Oh my goodness!!! I can hardly type. I am just soooooo excited!

She is 2 years old. We know her name and her birth date. We are just so thrilled!

Since my lawyer called on Monday my head has been spinning. She said, “Do you want to know? Or do you want to wait until the official paper comes? Because this is Bolivia after all…” I cut her off with a very excited, “Yes, I want to know!” She teased for a tad bit longer before she told me she had seen the file of the girl they had appointed to the Washington family. Then she said, “And she looks just like you, Angie!”

This afternoon it became official! We have our first court date: Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 10:30 AM. That is three weeks away! We have to show up with our Bolivian i.d. cards and our passports. The judge/court official will ask us some questions then read us her file which talks about her history and has a photo of her. We will then be asked if we accept the appointment. We will say YES! Then we will have permission to visit her. The visits will be evaluated by a social worker. After one or two weeks we will have a second court date. This is the one where we will take her home with us! A few weeks after that a final court date will be set and the adoption will be final!

In FIVE weeks (or maybe even four) she will be living in our home! That is the end of MAY. Ahhhh! :)

We have talked with the kids – they are all thrilled! The grandparents know, yeah! Now the world can know :)

God is so good!

  4. I´m even more excited than ever for you guys!!!! A new little girl to love on. YEA!!! What a blessing. I´m glad I´ll get to spend a little time with the newest Washington before we visit the States. Here´s hoping and praying that the Bolivian governmental system actually hurries this along even faster…now that would be a real modern miracle. Love to all the Washingtons!

    1. Denise, thank you so much for EVERYTHING! I, also, am very glad that you will get to know her before you head out on your adventure. Yes, pray for speed!

I love that your lawyer told you she looks just like you – it is so wonderful how God places his children born of their mother’s hearts to be of their heritage.
